Society for the Advancement of Social Studies
All the history you knew but forgot, and
all the booze you need to forget it again.

The Society for the Advancement of Social Studies (SASS), The Brooklyn Brainery, and Public Assembly are proud to present a series of free lectures designed to both entertain and enlighten. On the first Tuesday of month, we will discuss a different historical topic that you probably knew at one point but don’t remember anymore.

This will be accompanied by fun games, surprise guests, and most importantly THEMED DRINK SPECIALS from the good folks at Public Assembly, which everyone knows is the best way to ensure maximum knowledge gained.

Introducing: Michelle Legro

Michelle Legro is an associate editor at Lapham’s Quarterly and the editor of laphamsquarterly.org.

She is also the lady behind the hit blog, My Daguerreotype Boyfriend, and will be teaching us all about early American photographic portraiture via pictures of some handsome gents of yesteryear. Also, hopefully she will also teach us how to say “daguerreotype.”

Tuesday the 5th at Public Assembly!
